Residential Treatment

Children and young people come to live at Cunningham for many reasons, including histories of mental illness, birth trauma, abuse, neglect, and pervasive developmental disabilities. When they arrive at Cunningham they are greeted with a personal welcome basket full of clothes, supplies, their own teddy bear and a hand-made quilt for their new bed.

Cunningham's Residential Treatment programs are recognized as among the best in the state of Illinois. A community of highly-skilled, caring professionals work to provide a therapeutic environment 24 hours a day, every day.

Clinically trained, master's level therapists provide residential clients with individualized mental health treatment. Our treatment model is state-of-the-art and data-driven, with a cognitive behavioral orientation.
